TAAS provides Appropriate Adults to safeguard the rights, entitlements and welfare of young people/ vulnerable persons. Appropriate Adults help to ensure police are acting properly and fairly in accordance with  PACE.

The Appropriate Adult Service (TAAS) is the single largest provider of Appropriate Adult services in the UK.

We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  We operate widely across the UK and have been providing Appropriate Adults since 2001.

Service Provision:

APPROPRIATE ADULTS

TAAS can provide Appropriate Adults to support:

  • Detainees in police custody

  • Voluntary Interviews

  • Victim Statements

  • Witness Statements

  • Non police prosecuting agencies

AGE ASSESSMENTS

TAAS can provide Independent Adults to support a child or young person through the Age Assessment process. 

SUPERVISED CONTACT

TAAS can provide experienced personnel to supervise contacts between children and parents, grandparents or siblings. We undertake both private and public law casework and are happy to supervise sessions in the community, at private homes or in contact centers
